The speculative style of Wittgenstein's thought

Italo Valent

pp. 247-252

Abstrakt

There is in Wittgenstein an internal relation, that is to say an original and indissoluble connection, between a particular piece of the contents and the overall style or method of his thought. This is what I like to call the "speculative" in Wittgenstein: a word which means that each stage of the analysis of language somehow presupposes the whole distance of analysis as already covered.
