Physics as a cultural science
pp. 45-53
Abstrakt
I have to start with the confession that I cannot give a clear definition of "cultural science", and if there is one I do not know whether it coincides with my own perception of it. In my native German, I would have chosen the title "Physik als eine Geisteswissenschaft", but since the term "Geisteswissenschaften" has mainly been used to translate "moral sciences' (from John Stuart Mill), the English translation of my title would have been "Physics as a Moral Science" and this would have been grossly misleading.
