The renewed discussions on the concept of the Asiatic mode of production
pp. 89-107
Abstrakt
The contemporary Marxist debate on the theoretical status and value of the concept of the Asiatic mode of production (AMP) began in the late 1950s.1 There exists today an extensive literature on the subject produced by scholars from various disciplines and many different countries. Broadly speaking, this literature falls into three categories, although there may be considerable overlap in any single work.
