Nietzsche vagabundus or, the good European in transitu
pp. 169-188
Abstrakt
Nietzsche, however "bad" a German he was, prided himself on being "a good European." The present piece argues that Nietzsche's travels throughout Europe—and more than his travels, his dwelling and writing in many different locales within Europe—justify his pride. The piece tries to demonstrate the importance of Nietzsche's transits and transitions by reflecting on the production of a book titled The Good European, published back in 1997, which reports on Nietzsche's work sites in Germany, Switzerland, France, and Italy.
