Abstrakt
Appparently, a group of Marxists in Slovenia in the 1970s read Althusser and, like others of that time, were directed to the materialism of Freud and Lacan. One of them, Slavoj Žižek, would probably call himself an orthodox Lacanian. We"ll see. Certainly Žižek studied in Paris, is in touch with Jacques-Alain Miller and Lacanian circles there, and has spent time on all of Lacan's texts, including the eleven of 27 seminars that are available only in samizdat from certain bookshops in the rue des Ecoles.
