Maximum entropy updating and conditionalization

Daniel Hunter

pp. 45-57

Abstrakt

Maximum Entropy Updating, or MAXENT for short, is a method for revising probabilistic beliefs when new constraints on probabilities are given. It produces a new probability measure that in a certain sense "minimally' revises the prior probability measure so as to accomodate the new constraints.
