Personal and philosophical reflections on John Wild
pp. 267-
Abstrakt
Meeting Wild in the fall of 1961 was an event of serendipity and philosophical revelation which totally changed the direction of my academic and professional career. In the 1961–1962 academic year, I joined as a post-doctoral fellow the Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago to pursue further the study of the French Thomist Jacques Maritain about whom I had published a monograph in 1960 which was expanded into a dissertation. Ives R. Simon, his most distinguished student, was teaching in the Committee. Just before I arrived in Chicago, unfortunately, he passed away.
